What a Booking is in Eleventh — ownership, who it links together, and where it lives in the data model.
What is a Booking?
A Booking represents a single supplier engagement – one supplier performing at one event for one customer. It's the central object most other things in Eleventh attach to: quotes, contracts, chat, payments, and compliance requirements all live on a Booking.
Who Owns a Booking?
Bookings are owned by the supplier's Organisation — following the same ownership model covered in Accounts & Organisations ->.. A Booking can also reference:
- A Venue, if the booking is taking place at one
- A Customer, the person who made the booking
Bookings vs. Collaborative Bookings
If a single event involves more than one Eleventh supplier (say, a DJ and a photobooth operator for the same wedding), each supplier has their own separate Booking — but these can be looked togehter so everyone involved can coordinate. The full model for grouping these together is still being finalised, and will be ready soon!
What Attaches to a Booking?
- Quotes and contracts
- In-app chat, scoped to that Booking's participants
- Payments (deposits, balances)
- Compliance documents required for that specific event
- Attachments (files/folders)
- Notes, brief entries, and schedule
Access to a Booking
Access follows the roles and permissions covered in Roles & Permissions -> for organisation members. Customers access their Booking directly via magic link or their customer account - if permitted by the supplier organisation, and they can only see that Booking, never the organisation's other data.
Did you know?
A customer account can be used by the customer to view all bookings they have with all Eleventh suppliers they've worked with. Everything is conveniently grouped in one place.
